I agree to participate in the above named activity. I recognize that the training may be strenuous and physically demanding, and I warrant that I am in good health and fit enough to participate. I further recognize the dangers inherent with paddling at sea including, but not limited to, hypothermia, sunstroke, dehydration, interactions with wild life, physical exhaustion, concussion and drowning. In consideration of my participation, I (together with my heirs, executors and administrators where applicable) hereby agree to:

Waive any claims against the Surfski School and the Surfski School Instructors (collectively the “Event Organisers”) and their directors, employees, agents or volunteers, that may arise at or as a result of the Event/Activity described above, to the maximum extent permissible in law; and
Indemnify the Event Organisers and their directors, employees, agents or volunteers, to the maximum extent permissible in law, from any costs, expenses, loss and liabilities arising from any claim brought against them by any third party as a result of the Event/Activity described above; and
Wear a PFD or lifejacket and safety leash while paddling; and
Not to paddle under the influence of alcohol or any other substance that could impair my judgment or performance and balance in a surf-ski; and
Listen carefully and comply with all instructions given by the Event Organisers; and
Not to intentionally disturb, or paddle close to, any dangerous wildlife; and
In the event of an emergency, I give permission for the Event Organizers to arrange for my transport to a hospital for medical treatment. I further agree to be responsible for all medical costs, evacuation and repatriation costs, travel delays etc. The responsibility for these costs belonging entirely to me;
To have valid medical insurance for the duration of the activity;
Any claims arising out of, or in connection with, this event or expedition are governed by the laws of South Africa, and the Supreme Court of South Africa will have exclusive jurisdiction to hear such claims.
